How it works, and what to do if it doesn't

Using the app
How do I get more trips?
Do your tasks. Each task you tick puts one trip in the tank (up to six). Doing all three gives you a full tank and the marked cast, your best chance of a prize fish.
I can't do a task today
Tap the task and use Swap (one free a day). On longer tasks there's also a two-minute version that still counts.
I missed some days. Have I lost everything?
No. You get two weather days a week, used automatically, so a missed day or two changes nothing. Miss more and the bay goes quiet until you're back. One small task gets her going again, and there's a bonus for coming back. You never lose your boat, fish or progress.
I don't want the fishing, just the tracker
Switch on Auto sail (top left of the map, or Settings). The skipper picks the marks and sails for you; you just do the tasks.
How do I get a different boat?
Harbour › Boatyard. The Crabber and the Trawler unlock with days out and Grit. Three more boats come with Pro. Every boat catches the same fish at the same odds.
I don't want family tasks
Settings › Family tasks › Off. You'll get other People tasks instead and nothing is missed.
Nudges
I'm not getting my daily nudge
Check the time in Settings › Daily nudge, then make sure notifications for The Daily Catch are allowed in your phone's settings. On iPhone, also check Focus modes aren't silencing it. Some Android phones also stop apps in the background to save battery; set The Daily Catch to "unrestricted" in your phone's battery settings.
How do I stop the nudge?
Settings › Daily nudge › Off.
Your data
Where is my progress saved?
On your phone. Cloud backup with sign-in is coming in a later update. Until then, uninstalling the app or wiping your phone removes your progress.
How do I delete everything?
Settings › Delete everything, then tap again to confirm. It can't be undone.
Does anyone see my Harbourmaster check-ins?
No. They stay on your phone and are never sent to us, an employer or anyone else. Privacy policy.
Pro
What does Pro add?
Three more boats, Pro paint colours, voyages like the 90-day money reset, and more waters as they open. Everything that helps you build the habit is free.
How do I cancel?
On iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › The Daily Catch › Cancel Subscription.
On Android: Google Play › your profile › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions › The Daily Catch › Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds go through the store you paid through. On iPhone, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, through Google Play under its refund policy. If you've been charged by mistake, email us too and we'll help.
